What significance does the continuing development of digital media technology have for media institutions and audiences?

The ongoing development of new media technologies has had a profound impact on both media institutions and audiences in recent years. Digital media technology can be defined as electronic software, systems and devices that can produce and store process data that can mean anything from the cameras used to make the film to the social media used to promote it in the film industry. Many new streaming websites are on the rise such as Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and many more that people watch there shows on now because its so convenient. Most of these sites don't have adds and if they do then they are normally free and if you spend money you will get no adds. I think this will be what most people will primarily watch soon because they can watch anything they want, not what's just on live TV.
