In this article the journalist uses many different things to create a tone and to get the ideas to the reader. This journalist uses many quotation marks to get their point across. They are using quotation marks for certain words she wants the reader to closely look at and view the difference of. For example, in the first paragraph it states “. It even dictates their choices in pronouns: always the humble “we,” never the immodest “I.” And like many things in life, it’s more strictly enforced on female artists”. She puts quotation marks around these words, so the readers know which one is humble and witch one is immodest. This journalist also uses quotation marks on song titles so if the reader wanted to view the song, they would know what to look up to find it.

This journalist also puts the picture of the album and a star rating directly above so if someone just wanted to quickly view the rating they very well could. The journalist also puts what ever album they are reviewing right next to where it is being talked about so the readers now witch album he is talking about. This particular journalist goes very in depth on the person that wrote the album. For example, he does not just write about the current album as stated in the magazine, “But Kacey Musgraves’ 2013 majorlabel debut, Same Trailer Different Park, was gloriously provocative. On the album’s two best songs, “Merry Go ’Round” and “Follow Your Arrow,” the 26-year-old critiqued life in small towns like the Texas one she couldn’t escape fast enough”. He goes back into the artists past and talks about her old hits and how they sounded so that people will understand why this new album is going to be so good. They compare the old music sound to the new music and the article talks about how the instruments add to her “tender voice”. Then When the writer talks about the bonus track, he states “Through to the surprise bonus track, the album holds strong: “Late to the Party” is a lightly swinging song about the joy of commitment”. This makes you feel as if the song is very uplifting and will remind you of the good.
