There are many ways to affect media today if there is a very popular person says that a certain social media is better then many people will switch to it. but there are also ways like funding and ownership because if someone goes on shark tank and gets a deal with one of the sharks then that is a lot of publicity.There are many examples of this such as snapchat went on shark tank but did not get a deal even though they didn't get a deal they are still popular because of how many people watch the show.

There are other ways to get funding such as for most public companies people can invest in that company because they think the company will grow so if they invest 5 dollars they can get that money back and much more just because they gave this company money.

When a company gets many investors that lets say just give 5 dollars when 1000 people give 5 dollars then that's 5000 dollars that the company can use t grow there company even more. when this happens and a company gets bigger more and more people will start to get in on this so they can get more money.

If someone popular starts a clothing brand many of there following will go and try to get this new popular brand. Another thing that can happened is for example Facebook grew very quickly as a social media then they made a facebook marketplace for people to sell things locally. Another thing people can do is based of their appearance if someone makes a diet plan and they look very healthy then people can assume they know what they are talking about. It is way harder to start a clothing brand without a social media presence.

In conclusion media ownership and funding are very important. if social media never existed then there would be a very level playing field in clothing brand because many small companies could get into popular stores easier. With someone from shark tank investing in a company with that shows popularity many people would invest in that company as well because they can only assume the company will grow.
